World Port Development was launched in 2000 to serve the ports, transport and shipping industries. The publisher, Peter van Schie, set-out to establish the publication as a leading source of information, offering both high-quality and value-added services to its readers, and six years on this growing journal is reaping the rewards.

Peter has over 19 years experience of working on several port magazines including Port Development International (PdI), Cargo Systems, Cargo Today, the World of Cargo Handling and World Port Development in a commercial capacity. He has travelled worldwide and during the course of his travels and other business activities made many valuable contacts. Peter has also worked as a consultant for the International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association (ICHCA).

With a small, dedicated team of reporters, the concept of offering information against reasonable prices has been a major factor in World Port Development's successful rise to prominence.

Working from Maidenhead-based offices, World Port Development is now firmly established as THE leading media presence within a highly competitive industry, and has maintained and built-on a staple readership while other publications have come and gone.

We aim to represent the industry, and operate as a forum of discourse to serve our readers, inviting companies and engineers to make regular contributions to boost our editorial content, ensuring that World Port Development is always on the same wavelength as the readership it serves.
